Trading Technology: Innovation Challenges In The Next Five Years

Workshop Leader: Dave Cliff,
Professor of Computer Science,
University of Bristol

What are the major challenges for trading technology over the next five years? Specifically, what innovations and new developments are likely to be needed by 2013? How likely are these to be delivered? How will the business environment differ? What skills and talent will be in demand, and how might that demand best be met? This workshop addresses these issues via a series of short presentations, plus panel discussions, involving leading trading technology innovators and end-users. The UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) will be presenting details of their major new "digital economy" funding initiative, making available tens of millions of dollars for research into technology innovation for the financial markets.

  1. Professor Chris Clack, Head, Financial Computing and Quantitative Finance Programme, University College London
  2. Dr Joe Faith, Northumbria University

He is also a founder of Syritta Algorithmics Ltd, a technology development and consultancy company.
