AutoCEE 2007 took place at the Intercontinental Hotel Prague on November 7th-8th, 2007. Over two days 250+ senior automotive executives heard 30 presentations from OEMs, suppliers and automotive industry experts. Preceding the conference on November 6th delegates visited the SKODA AUTO plant in Mlada Boleslav.
Chairman Peter Fuss, head of automotive business in Central and Eastern Europe for E&Y opened the first day. Robert Szurman, Vice Minister of Trade and Industry gave the first presentation followed by presentations from KIA MOTORS SLOVAKIA’s Young-Taek Huh, Vice President for Administration, Jun Bum Park, General Manager and Dusan Dvorak, General Manager of PR. Other key presentations on the first day were given by Martin Jahn, Member of the board of management, SKODA AUTO; Petr Vanek, General Manager PR, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic; Pavel Hortlik, Deputy General Manager, Quality Control, TPCA; Franck Guyot, Central European Purchasing Manager, PSA PEUGEOT CITROEN; Michael S. Hanley, Global Automotive Leader, E&Y.
Afternoon streams focused on Russia and Ukraine with presentations from Kamen Zahariev, Country Director Ukraine and Anna Tokarz, Senior Banker, EBRD, Oleg Boiaryn, CEO, EUROCAR, Roeland Van Gestel, General Manager, LEAR RUSSIA and Dr Albrecht Bochow, Managing Director, MAGNA-GAZ GROUP JOINT SUPPLY ORGANISATION. On the evening of November 7th delegates were able to network informally at the annual awards dinner at the Strahov Monastery in the centre of old Prague. Roeland Van Gestel, General Manager, LEAR RUSSIA introduced the awards. Peter Fuss, head of automotive business in Central and Eastern Europe, E&Y presented the first award of executive of the year to Martin Jahn, Member of the Board of Management, SKODA AUTO. Further awards went to HYUNDAI (Best Employer), KIA (Best Supplier Collaboration), TPCA (Most Efficient Facility), BOSCH (Best T1 Supplier) and VW (Best Supply Chain).
Roeland Van Gestel, General Manager, LEAR RUSSIA chaired the second day. Speakers on the day were Matthias Holweg, Senior Lecturer, Operations Management, UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE, Helge Zeuner, Purchasing Manager Budapest Office, VOLKSWAGEN, Dr Gerd Schlaich, Director Advanced Supplier & Commodity Management, Procurement Mercedes Car Group and Van, DAIMLERCHRYSLER, Charles Herval, International Purchasing Network Director, Franck Guyot, Central European Purchasing Manager, PSA PEUGEOT CITROEN,.
