The Association for Geographic Information (AGI): The AGI represents the interests of the geographic information industry, including users in the public and private sectors, suppliers of software, hardware, data and services, consultants, academics and interested individuals. By providing this forum, AGI can give unparalleled opportunities to communicate with the GI community for significant business ends.
The objective of the AGI is to maximise the use of GI for the benefit of the citizen, good governance and commerce.
The AGI pursues these aims through a wide range of activities including lobbying, an active web site, a number of publications, specialist meetings and seminars throughout the country. These are all supported by our annual conference and trade exhibition.
The Defence Surveyors' Association: DSA is a registered charity which maintains liaison between officers, warrant officers and senior non-commissioned officers, both serving and retired, and civilians who are working or who have worked in the Defence domain where the focus is geospatial intelligence.
The Association provides a variety of services to its members which include the Ranger magazine, visits to a wide range of technical, military and historical sites, often not available to the general public, and opportunities to network with senior personnel in the Defence environmental and geospatial sector.
The British Cartographic Society offers a unique forum for the exchange of ideas and the sharing of knowledge on all aspects of maps and mapping. In a world where new technology is constantly presenting fresh challenges, the Society, through its various publications and events, ensures that its members are fully aware of latest developments in cartography and the application of geographic information.
The Society's website, provides a point of contact and features the Society's activities, including the annual awards for excellence in cartography, and directories of UK Map Collections, Freelance Cartographers and Corporate Members. There is also a regularly updated on-line publication on Careers in Cartography.
