IPUG

The Information Providers User Group (IPUG) represents the current and future interests of its member firms. It is now the principal organisation in the UK representing users of Market Data services on a technical, administrative and strategic level.

IPUG has developed strong working relationships with the major real-time information service vendors including Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Capital IQ the benchmark suppliers FTSE, MSCI, S&P and pricing and fundamental service providers such as Interactive Data and Markit. IPUG acts on behalf of its membership to focus these suppliers on generic issues affecting users. IPUG is recognised by these vendors as the users’ legitimate voice, and is often consulted and asked to contribute to supplier policy decisions which affect the membership.

With its commitment to represent new Market Data trends, IPUG continually monitor the technology and business process developments which affects the financial industry within the City, Europe and Asia.


    

EDM Council

“The Enterprise Data Management Council (EDM Council) is a non-profit trade association created by the financial industry to raise the profile of data content management as an essential business requirement. Founded in June 2005 and ‘owned’ by a its members (financial institutions and vendors alike), the Council is a trusted, neutral business forum for our members, regulators and the data industry at large.

The Council’s goal is to challenge existing industry-wide reference data issues and provide the business strategies and mechanisms for members to ensure that the data used for business processing and regulatory oversight is trusted to be fit-for-purpose; and in doing so to raise the profile of data management at the senior levels. www.edmcouncil.org

    

DAMA UK

DAMA UK Ltd., a not-for-profit limited company with a committee of seven (volunteer) directors, is a Chapter of DAMA International. It was established in November 2002 and the inaugural meeting was held on 1 April 2003. A programme of quarterly events has been running ever since.

A respected and global organisation representing the key interests of data resource management professionals, DAMA stands for Data Management Association. The first Chapter of DAMA International was founded in Los Angeles, USA, in 1980. It defines Data Resource Management as, “The development and execution of architectures, policies, practices and procedures that properly manage the full data lifecycle needs of an enterprise”.

    

FINet

The Financial Industry Network (FINet) is a membership organisation bringing together consumers and vendors of market data services for mutual benefit. It is structured as a non-profit company limited by guarantee and run purely for the benefit of its members. Membership is free if you are currently working within the financial services industry at a financial institution, at a market data vendor, or as a recruiter, journalist or independent consultant. JWG

JWG are recognised by regulators, financial institutions and technology firms as the independent analysts to help determine how the right regulations can be implemented in the right way.  They are unique.  Their independence permits them to work with regulatory and industry bodies, financial institutions and technology firms without serving the interests of any constituent over another.  This collaborative, analytical and practical approach enables them to help the financial services industry figure out how to respond to - and implement - the required changes and allows JWG to act as an impartial voice of the industry
