INTERACTIVE LEARNING DAY: GROUP PROBLEM SOLVING SCENARIOS

Problem Solving Scenarios / Small Group Brainstorming: This hands-on exercise gives you a new way of thinking and ideas to bring back to your office. Collaborate and problem solve with your peers! These themed scenarios will be provided to you by your moderator. During this time, your group will work together to create solutions for this problem. Keep in mind, there won’t be just one problem to solve! Each table will have a specific theme with no more than 20 people and run for 1 Hour. You will have an opportunity to attend 4 separate tables/scenarios over the course of the day.

Problem Solving Scenario Moderators:

  • Chris Zubof, Head - Workforce Development Training Branch, Naval Sea Systems Command HQ
  • Breck Marshall, Talent and Organization Performance Practice Lead Partner, Health & Public Service Operating Group, Accenture

8:15 Welcome Address & Explanation Of How The Sessions Work
Choose one problem solving scenario from each workshop. Sit down with your colleagues and peers for a truly interactive experience. The scenario moderator will present your group with a specific scenario, and together you will work through the best ways to meet the challenges presented in the scenario. Collaborate within your group to determine:
  1. What are the challenges
  2. What are the possible options for addressing those challenges
  3. Which options are likely to be the most successful and why
By the end of the day, you will have participated in four separate scenarios. You will not only have the opportunity to discuss the processes you have employed in your organization and hear about what has worked (or not) for others; you will gain a clear action plan for implementation to take back to your office.
