In 2001 he began working with passive tag technologies again in closed end loop projects for manufacturing, warehousing, legal and healthcare. He saw the use of RFID technologies in many industries outside of the realm of supply chain. He realized that RFID can complement the use of bar coding in many applications from amusement parks to quality control in a pharma research labs. He and his associates have a number of patent pending, RFID applications with the US patent office. Harry has spent the last five years in the RFID space working with Active as well as Passive RFID technologies in a number of industries in a “hands-on” capacity.
As he traveled and spoke with end users, attended trade shows and seminars on RFID he realized the need for a single, global, RFID trade association that can service and represent the RFID industry and at the same time interface with the end users in a common forum providing vendor neutral, educational information, training, and support to the end users who are looking to implement this new technology. Thus was born “The International RFID Business Association, Inc. a “Not for Profit” educational, trade association. |

Mark Ridge
Supply Chain Solutions Director
Agility Chemicals |
 |
With more than 18 years supply chain industry experience, Mark has recently joined Agility as Senior Solutions Manager within the Supply Chain Solutions team.
Having grown up in rural Oxfordshire, Mark went onto Loughborough University to study 'Transport Management & Planning'. At the time, amongst his peers this was an unusual choice of academic study. A one year placement with an emerging third party logistics company as it would now be called saw Mark develop an aptitude for the use of spreadsheet modelling to cost vehicle fleet operations. From this point forward Mark's career specialism was determined; the application of modelling, simulation and analysis techniques to supply chain problems.
Mark spent six years as a planning specialist within third party distribution. This gave him a good grounding especially in transport planning. Exposure to third party logistics was punctuated with a brief foray into systems specification as an applications engineer and product manager for a warehouse management software house.
For the last 12 years Mark has held a number of roles with the well known supply chain modelling specialist, Radical Limited. As a former 'CAST User of the Year', he joined Radical as a Consultant in 1996 and helped grow the business to global proportions going on to holding a number of senior positions including, Commercial Manager and VP Professional Services. Mark ended his time with Radical working flexibly as a Senior Consultant and has unparalleled experience having modeled supply chain networks on every continent apart from Antarctica across all industry sectors. |
