Tack Wai joined GS1 Singapore in July 2009. He is working towards bringing more value to GS1 Singapore Registered Users through various activities such as GS1 Standards training, export development programs, trade mission, exhibitions. He continues his work to develop and roll out GS1 standards on barcodes (1D, Databar, 2D DataMatrix & QR Code) for FMCG retail supply chain, fresh food, food safety, healthcare, construction, aerospace, GDSN (global data synchronization network) data pool, MobileCom (authentication and extended labeling), EPCIS and GS1 eCOM e-commerce to further enable efficient trade. On 1 Sep 2010, Tack Wai was appointed as Acting Assistant Secretary General in the Singapore Manufacturers’ Federation (SMa), the umbrella body for manufacturers in Singapore, which contributes 25% of Singapore’s GDP. This role is concurrent with his GS1 Singapore role as Executive Director. Working with the Sec-Gen and the SMa elected Council members, he oversees the Admin, HR, Finance, IT, Corporate Communications and Event Services divisions.

Paul has worked for more than 12 years with both international and regional logistics companies. He has held senior management positions with companies such as YCH Group and EGL Eagle Global Logistics (Asia Pacific). Paul's career in Logistics started in 1995 when he joined YCH as a Corporate Development Manager. Rising within the ranks, he became a Special Assistant to the CEO within 6 months and oversaw various critical projects and expansion plans. He was the lead person in new solution creations as well as strategic business development. In 2001, Paul joined EGL Eagle Global Logistics as its Regional Logistics Director. He subsequently moved to Menlo Worldwide Logistics for a similar position. In both companies, he was responsible for the overall logistics development in Asia Pacific, encompassing Business Development, Operations and IT. Paul left Menlo in April 2004 to provide a dedicated consultancy and developmental work to a local logistics company in Thailand. Today, Paul provides consultancy services in the areas of corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions (working closely through his principal BG Strategic Advisors), training and development as well as IT strategy and executions. Paul started his career as retail manager in the ladies' department of Isetan and subsequently branch out into entrepreneurship, selling training, consultancy and IT services to SMEs. Paul was selling email services under the Compuserv network when it was almost unheard of. He was almost a bankrupt in 1994 when the company collapsed and found a way to survive by joining YCH in 1995. Paul is a graduate of the National University of Singapore and holds an MBA (with distinction), specializing in Retail Distribution, from the University of Stirling in Scotland .

Mr Ni Sheng Jie started the current role of Regional Industry Director for Healthcare in Apr 2011. He is responsible to develop healthcare supply chain practice in TNT Asia Pacific Region. As a key member of TNT’s Global Account Management team for Healthcare, Mr Ni will lead TNT’s initiatives to support a portfolio of healthcare customers in the Asia Pacific Region.

Mr Ni has more than 10 years experience in the supply chain and logistics. Most part of his experience is in healthcare supply chain. He began his career in TNT Express in 2001. As the General Manager for Life sciences in Singapore, he launched the Clinical Express service in Asia Pacific Region. Over the subsequent years, he assumed various roles within the industry. This includes his 3-year appointment as the VP for Sales and Marketing for TNT Hoau, a wholly-owned TNT subsidiary in China and a period as the General Manager for Logistics Services with Zuellig Pharma China.

Mr Ni came from the pharmaceutical background. Prior to his career with TNT, he was in various sales management functions from Bayer Healthcare.

Dr. Rodney Wee PhD. CEO, Asia Cold Chain Centre (ACCC). The Centre is linked with tertiary Institutions and research organizations to provide expertise in Cold Chain Management, Value Supply Chain practices as well as specializing in areas of Post-Harvest Operations, Technologies and practices. He has spoken, chaired and facilitated seminars, conferences for APEC, the South Australian Freight Council, the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) as well as lectured in several Universities and tertiary organizations. As Cargo Product & Marketing Manager, Jack Lo is responsible for the development and marketing of products for Cathay Pacific Cargo. His responsibilities include product design and development, quality assurance management and research into customer needs. Mr Lo was responsible for the development and implementation of the airline’s Pharma Lift product – a specialised service catering for the pharmaceutical industry. Mr Lo joined Cathay Pacific in 1990. He has worked in a variety of managerial roles, including sales management and corporate sales, within the Cargo department.

Gerry Mattios is an expert principal of Bain & Company based in Beijing. He joined the firm in 2011 with more than 15 years of industry and consulting experience. Prior to joining Bain, he worked at Ford Motor Company, IBM and Atos KPMG Consulting in China, Europe and the USA. Gerry has served clients in a wide range of industries with a focus on chemicals, industrial products, automotive, technology and logistics industries. His work focuses on performance improvement such as supply chain, procurement and cost reduction as well as sustainability and operational technology strategies. He is a member of Bain & Company’s Industrial Goods and Services practice. Over the last five years, Gerry has worked almost exclusively in mainland China, for both Chinese and multinational corporations in the automotive, chemical, industrial and hi tech sector for their operational issues at both strategic and tactical level. Gerry earned an MBA from City University CASS B-School, he is currently studying for an MSt at Cambridge University and holds a BSc from Aston University in Transport Management & Logistics.

Lok Mun Leng has over 12 years of experience in supply chain management since he joined the healthcare industry in 1998. He has played a key role in helping to transform the management of the supply chain to a proactive model in the SingHealth Group. Mun Leng currently leads the non-pharmaceutical section for the Group Procurement Office (GPO) that manages more than 80 contracts for products and services ranging from medical supplies to contract services such as housekeeping, electricity, advertisement, debt collection and uniforms. He assists the Group Chief Procurement Officer for SingHealth in developing strategic plans for supply chain management and overseeing the progress of the strategic procurement for SingHealth. Since 2003, GPO has consistently delivered good savings for SingHealth and to date, has achieved about SGD 173 million in cost savings. The office currently manages about SGD 320 million worth of contract value. Prior to joining SingHealth, Mun Leng managed the purchasing department of the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and took up a short stint in operations support role as Security Manager in SGH. He was also deployed in the training and development department to facilitate the skills redevelopment programme for the healthcare industry in 1999. Mun Leng is also a former Senior Police Officer with the Singapore Police Force and has covered roles ranging from investigation, commanding and staff posting.

A graduate in Chemistry and an MBA with over 25 years experience in all areas of Supply Chain Management, Ryan has been associated with companies like Lupin, Sandoz, Bayer, Matrix Labs and Teva.

Dr. Nerger studied chemistry and polymer science, worked in R&D in academia and in industry in Germany and in the US. Dr. Nerger joined Bayer 1983, established Mobay’s R&D Dep. at Pittsburgh, Pa. in 1989. Dr. Nerger has developed five commercialized products for medical and engineering applications with customers, followed by assignments as manufacturing manager in Germany and thereafter in Korea for animal health, pharmaceutical and vaccines products, thereafter as global head of the Animal Health Div.’s Technical Operation to implement a global restructuring of sites and supply chain.

In 2002, Dittmar transferred to Chengdu, China, as General Manager of Bayer’s Joint Venture for a business turn around. Since 2004 Dittmar established the Strat. Sourcing Dep. for Bayer HealthCare’s Global Divisions in Shanghai and serves as chairman of the Joint Venture in Chengdu.

Dittmar received the Bayer Asia-Pacific Star Award for Best Business Turnaround in 2005 and was named the China Supply Chain Executive of the Year 2007 by the China Supply Chain Council.

Sundar now heads Supply Chain Management function as Vice President – SCM in Neuland Laboratories Limited, a 450 crore Pharma Company at Hyderabad. Neuland Laboratories has embarked on an ambitious growth path and is targeting growth in its core area of Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing and through forays into allied businesses by setting up a CRO and a Clinical Trials JV. Sundar currently handles purchasing and logistics for these business verticals for more than 5 years now. Neuland Laboratories offers a reliability program world-wide backed up by a voluntary penalty of 5% per day for every delayed day of delivery to all its Reliability customers. With a large portion of inputs imported from abroad, Sundar’s team has been able to stand up to this challenge thus far has been managing without any major stock-outs affecting Neuland product deliveries till now.
