ADAC
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) was created in March 2006 to spearhead the redevelopment of the Emirate’s aviation infrastructure.
ADAC's creation was in tandem with an ambitious restructuring initiative launched by the Government of Abu Dhabi, aimed at delivering better government services to support the Emirate's long-term strategy to transform into a centre for business and tourism.
ADAC operates Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Ain International Airport and Al Bateen Executive Airport, which is the region’s first dedicated private jet airport located in the heart of the city. In December 2008, it has also commenced the management and operation of a new dedicated air terminal on Sir Bani Yas Island.
ADAC has chosen to focus on four strategic priorities. Those four priorities are: safety and security, customer service, meeting capacity demand, efficient operations and developing ADAC as a world-class, socially responsible company.
Safety and security is the foundation on which all other progress is dependent. ADAC’s goal is to ensure that the airports it manages are classed amongst the safest in the world. A commitment to customer service is firmly built on ADAC’s promise to its customers, both passengers and airlines that it will provide a safe and secure environment through which they can travel.
ADAC wants to operate and manage its assets to optimum effect. In the last two years, it has invited private sector partners to join forces in partnerships, joint ventures or franchise agreements, to achieve the efficiencies and quality it seeks in the services it provides.
In the short time, ADAC has headed up operations at Abu Dhabi International Airport. The airport has received a number of significant awards from regional and international bodies, including:
- “Best Airport Security Provider” and “Duty Free of the Year” Business Aviation Awards.
- "The best airport in the Middle East and Africa in terms of service quality, courtesy, and customer service" by the Airports Council International.
- "Provider of the best baggage delivery service in the world" by Skytrax.
- “The best provider of airport security services in the Middle East” by ITP Business Publishing.
- “The best station” award by Sri Lanka Airlines.
