PBL, born during the death spiral of increasing costs and declining readiness in the 1990s, continues to be mischaracterized and misunderstood. In this briefing we will explore the current status of PBL across the department, examine what will be required to institutionalize PBL across the life cycle, and discuss the future direction of PBL. Much like the DLA in the US, NAMSA plays a critical role in ensuring consistent contracting support for global defense logistics for the North Atlantic Alliance . NAMSA works to assist NATO nations and military commands, coordinating common procurement and supply of spare parts, maintenance and repair services required to support of various weapon systems in their inventories and operations support services for various operations approved by the North Atlantic Council (KFOR, NTM-I, ISAF) .
