During the last 12 months, Adam has been transitioning from managing indirect spend for Colgate at a contractual and strategic level to promotional purchasing, managing technical experts, and the details of every launch at L’Oreal.

In general, the procurement organization is transitioning from a hybrid service organization to a strategically focused, sourcing organization. At the same time we have been implementing various tools and technologies to support the transition.

What sets your organization apart from competitors?

Toyota efficiently blends a de-centralized agency service model with a centralized national structure.

What do you consider your biggest challenge in advancing your role/organization?:

Toyota Division marketing is consolidating several previously distributed functions. This brings together numerous advertising agencies, for which consolidation is an option.

What are you most passionate about when it comes to your profession?:

A good, clear contract makes it much easier for each party to have clear expectations of requirements and performance expectations.

Any professional accomplishments you’d like to share with your fellow event participants?

I also serve as the Chairman of the ANA West Coast Finance and Procurement Committee.

Additionally, I’m am an Adjunct Faculty with the University of Redlands, in Business Law and Economics.

Kim Harrison-Johnson manages the Strategic Sourcing function for Marketing at SunTrust Banks, Inc. She is responsible for partnering with marketing to develop, validate and implement commodity sourcing strategies and manage risk.

Prior to joining SunTrust, Kim was with The Home Depot as a sourcing manager and single point of contact for the HD.com business. Other areas of responsibility included CRM (customer relationship management), Social Media and Consumer Insights teams.

Kim led the sourcing team to penetrate the hd.com business and greatly enhanced the credibility of the sourcing organization in that space. She is highly regarded as a partner who can deliver total value, significantly reduce costs, negotiate out of contract redundancies and for consistently exceeding savings goals.

Kim has an extensive banking background in marketing. As a VP marketing manager at Bank of America and Chase, she led credit card marketing acquisition and retention programs. Kim was with Citigroup from 2003 to 2008 where she was the VP of Cross Sell Strategy where she was responsible for expanding the basket of banking products and services between Citi and Home Depot. She was also a key contributor in the launch of the Citigroup/Home Depot credit card portfolio.

From 2008-2010, Kim launched and managed a successful marketing consulting firm and had major clients such as UnitedHealthcare and The Home Depot.

Mr. Rojas is a member of the NY/NJ Minority Supplier Development Council’s Board of Directors and currently chairs the audit committee. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization.

Mr. Rojas previously served on the Board of Directors for the Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the National Minority Business Council where he served as the Secretary.

He is a native of Peru and came to the United States in 1973. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, and holds a Bachelors Degree from Columbia University.
