Vasco has an Engineering degree in Metallurgy and Material Sciences from the Technical University of Lisbon in Portugal, a Masters in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from SDA Bocconi in Milan.

Vasco joined Johnson & Johnson in 2003 and has since progressed further in several procurement lead roles. Most recently Vasco headed up the Global Pharma R&D Sourcing (GPS) function for the Pharmaceutical group at Johnson & Johnson. Vasco works out of his Beerse office but lives in Milan with his wife and two kids.

Martin is responsible for the Global Procurement Operations (GPO) team in EMEA. The traditional mature markets (EU16) and Emerging Markets Europe (EME) were merged into one team in early 2011 and consolidated under Martin’s leadership. His role was then further extended in October 2012 to also include Africa and the Middle East. He holds full responsibility to deliver a functional procurement role including strategic sourcing, tactical and operational support for all Pfizer business units and key stakeholders across EMEA.

Martin joined Pfizer in 2003 as a Procurement Manager Czech Republic , before moving into the role of Head of Procurement UK in 2007. In 2009 he was promoted to the position of Procurement Director for the newly created Emerging Markets Europe. In 2011 he became Senior Director for the consolidated European markets, before commencing his current position in 2012 as Senior Director for the EMEA region.

Prior to joining Pfizer, Martin spent over 7 years in Management Consulting companies including over 5 years with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting focusing mainly on organizational restructuring projects.

With a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, I have gravitated to roles in global manufacturing organisations. My first Procurement job was at Toyota, where I lived and worked in the UK and Brussels for 10 years, buying and managing a series of teams across of automotive components, materials and logistics.

Having mastered very little Japanese, but more of Procurement and lean philosophies, in 2004 I was offered the opportunity to run Operations Procurement for one of the world’s largest tobacco company, Gallaher Group. This role covered 13 manufacturing plants and acquisition companies.

In 2007 I moved within the tobacco industry to take up an internal lean role with British American Tobacco looking at packaging procurement. Six months into this role, I was sent to Turkey (a little like being sent to Coventry only further away!!) to run Procurement for the £2bn acquisition that BAT made of the Turkish state monopoly.

On completing the acquisition I took responsibility for Operations Procurement, a role which expanded to include F&L, Marketing Research, Creative Design Agencies, Machinery, spare parts & Merchandising. In all a total spend of $4bn across 50 sites and 160 markets.

Since April 2011, Friedhelm Felten has been Chief Procurement Officer of the Merck Group. He is therewith responsible for Mercks global Procurement activities.

Mr. Felten holds a degree in business administration. Mr. Felten began his successful career in 1991 as assistant to the CFO of BASF Magnetics. Already in 1993 he took over a management position in Singapore. Mr. Felten worked for BASF for a total of twelve years covering different functions and regions; his last position there was as Chief Financial Officer in Manila.

Once back in Europe, he first held the position of Senior Vice President Global Sourcing for Deutsche Post Work Net AG, before moving to London to work for DHL Logistics. In London, he was Senior Vice President, in which capacity he headed a strategy program for efficiency enhancement targeting four digit Mio Euro improvements. The years 2008/2009 Mr. Felten acted as member of DHL,s Executive Board Asia /Pacific in Singapore, before joining the Merck Group in July of 2009.

Mr. Felten's mindset and approach are shaped by the interplay of eastern philosophy and entrepreneurship that he experienced in Asia. The nine years he spent in Asia have made this father of three an internationally oriented top manager with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Mr. Felten’s resumé also features advanced studies in future-oriented management at Wharton Executive Education University and the University of Michigan.

In 2011, he moved to Paris to take his current responsibility as the logistics category lead for the Asia Pacific region.

Andrea Sordi was born in Genova - Italy 36 years ago. He is married and has one daughter of 7.

He has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Genova University and PhD in Food Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering. He’s published some studies on food biotechnology above all on Xylitol and flour rheology.

He’s then started his career in the Industry joining Saiwa (Danone Biscuits Italy) in 2001 as Operation Financial controllers working on a number of performances and network reorganizational projects and being part of the factories management for more than 2 years.

He then started his international experience which brings him across different countries and positions.
He has been working as Strategy and Sourcing Manager for Danone biscuits Europe for almost 3 years in the Paris Headquarter, gaining a cross-functional and broader experience on food industry technologies and commercial markets across Europe and working for a period of time on projects in Central Europe.

He then moved to Spain where he and his family lived for more than 6 years between Barcelona and Madrid.

He started his Iberian experience as Industrial Flow Manager based in a factory and in charge of production and material planning for Lu Spain (Danone). Afterwards he increased his responsibility as Supply Planning Manager of the new Kraft Biscuits Iberia, born after Kraft acquisition of Danone Biscuits Business. In this position he was in charge of all Forecast to Stock process and he create the new Supply organization in Iberia. He was business leader in the design and development of the APO planning tool being Spain first Kraft business implementing it.

He left for a while the Supply Chain and he was managed the Business integration of all Kraft divisions in Iberia, gaining a wider cross-functional and organizational experience he brought in his future roles.
He moved back to Supply Chain where he took the lead for Kraft Spain Customer Service and Development, building the new team, process and relationship with customers of the new joint Kraft multi-category business and changed the logistic network.

He moved to procurement in November 2010 as Procurement Director for the Iberian Business of Kraft and worked over the months on a various number of initiatives focused mainly on strengthening stakeholder engagement and supplier relationship, as well he worked on a re-organizational project resulting in a new setting of the European procurement team, processes and ways of working.

He has been Head of Corporate & Professional Services Procurement for entire Kraft Europe Business covering different initiatives focused on driving top performance in SMG&A to fuel company growth.
Since September 2012 he moved to Mondelēz International European Headquarter in Zurich as Procurement Director for the Gum & Candy division and part of the Procurement European Leadership Team. In this role he’s ensuring the strategic development of the different Procurement sourcing areas jointly with the division growth and innovation initiatives.

Along his career Andrea acquired a wider experience in people and organizational development, networking and stakeholder management, supplier development and strategic approach to strengthen business results.

In his personal life, he loves spending time with his family travelling, skiing and swimming, and good food.
