Mike Jarrett

VP SCM

Raytheon Missile Systems Company

Mike Jarrett is vice president of supply chain at Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, Arizona. He does not have a traditional supply chain background. His career in the defense industry includes a variety of positions in manufacturing, engineering, product operations and program management. Interestingly, all of these positions intersect with supply chain because Raytheon’s business model relies heavily on suppliers for the production of our components and subsystems.

This experience helped Mike understand the importance of the supply management function and its impact on the business. Mike’s goal when he accepted the position to lead supply chain at Raytheon Missile Systems in 2008 was to transform the organization to provide full-service support to our programs and to become a competitive discriminator for our business.

He has done so by to broadening the skills within supply chain and by improving integration with the other business functions. He has infused his organization with personnel possessing broad, nontraditional supply chain backgrounds that, when teamed with our traditional talent and other functions, can rise to meet the complex challenges present in today's business environment. Currently, more than 50 percent of his leadership team has nontraditional supply chain background.
