Dr Marc Faber was born in Zurich, Switzerland. He went to school in Geneva and Zurich and finished high school with the Matura. He studied Economics at the University of Zurich and, at the age of 24, obtained a PhD in Economics magna cum laude.
Between 1970 and 1978, Dr Faber worked for White Weld & Company Limited in New York, Zurich and Hong Kong.
Since 1973, he has lived in Hong Kong. From 1978 to February 1990, he was the Managing Director of Drexel Burnham Lambert (HK) Ltd. In June 1990, he set up his own business, MARC FABER LIMITED which acts as an investment advisor, fund manager and broker/dealer.
Dr Faber publishes a widely read monthly investment newsletter “THE GLOOM BOOM & DOOM” report which highlights unusual investment opportunities, and is the author of several books including “TOMORROW’S GOLD – Asia’s Age of Discovery” which was first published in 2002 and highlights future investment opportunities around the world. “TOMORROW’S GOLD” was for several weeks on Amazon’s best seller list and has been translated into Japanese, Korean, Thai and German. Dr. Faber is also a regular contributor to several leading financial publications around the world.
A book on Dr Faber, “RIDING THE MILLENNIAL STORM”, by Nury Vittachi, was published in 1998.
A regular speaker at various investment seminars, Dr Faber is well known for his “contrarian” investment approach. Christopher Brandon is a principal and founder of Rhicon Currency Management. Mr Brandon began his career in 1995 at Swiss Bank Corporation in Geneva and thereafter in London as a foreign exchange dealer. He relocated to UBS Warburg Singapore in late 1998 as a proprietary trader and the senior technical analyst for Asia. In mid 2000 Mr Brandon co-founded Rhicon Currency Management in Singapore. The firm subsequently opened an office in London and currently manages approximately 300mio USD across two currency-only strategies. He holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Edinburgh.
Gabriel Butler is Director and Head of Equities for ITG in Hong Kong. As such, he oversees ITG's Asian markets trading operations and works closely with clients to determine optimal trading strategies and provide trading and analysis tools to improve execution performance. Prior to this position, he was Senior Vice President of ITG Algorithms Trading, Analysis & Research in the U.S. Before joining ITG in 2002, Mr. Butler worked as Portfolio Manager and Trader for FDO Partners, a hedge fund specializing in emerging markets currencies.
Mr. Butler also worked as a research assistant in econometrics at the National Bureau of Economic Research and the Harvard Institute for International Development.

With Over 35 yearsa of banking experience, Hans Goetti joined LGT Bank in Liechtenstein in November 2007, as Chief Investmernt Officer Asia Pacific.
Prior to joining LGT, Mr. Goett spent 16 years in Citigroup in Zurich, Geneva and Singapore, where he now resideds. The various rolses held by Mr. Goetti include, among others - Senior Portfolio Manager, Investment Advisor and Investment Strategist. His last position was Head of Research Services Group at Citi Private Bank in Singapore.

ROBIN GRIFFITHS joined Cazenove in 2008 and is responsible for the day to day management of the Cazenove Worldwide Absolute Return Fund (CWARF). For over 30 years Robin Griffiths has been one of the most respected technical analysts of world stock markets, bonds, currencies and commodities. He became a technical analyst with WI Carr, based first in Hong Kong and then Tokyo before returning to London. During this time he started to develop his own trading system, analysing stock and market trends. He was then chief technical strategist with HSBC for over 20 years. Prior to joining Nomura, Rob was head of Lehman Brothers' Prime Services Origination in Asia, based in Hong Kong. While in NY, Rob was a senior member of the Equity Liquid Markets Sales force, where he ran a team focusing on Cash & Program Trading, Futures, Options, ETFs, Swaps, Risk Arbitrage, Index Changes and Derivative Related Research. Rob joined Lehman Brothers in 1998 as US Agency Program Trading Product Manager. In this role he developed a comprehensive electronic trading platform which incorporated client connectivity, quantitative research, "smart" trading strategies, access to multiple sources of liquidity and efficient operations and settlement. He was also responsible for the sales and marketing effort for program trading. He subsequently became Global Program Trading Product Manager, and focused on rewriting the common technology that supports each of the regional headquarters.
Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Rob was Executive Vice President and Head of Sales and Trading at Investment Technology Group ("ITG"), an agency brokerage and technology firm. Rob joined ITG in 1987 as one of its first employees. During his eleven-year tenure, he helped develop the firm's range of advanced trading technologies, including POSIT, and helped drive their expansion into the agency brokerage business. He served as a member of ITG's Executive Committee.

Robert Rooks joined Chi-X as Head of New Business Development for APAC in 2007 and was shortly after appointed Chief Administration Officer Asia Pacific for the business early 2008. Prior to Chi-X he was the APAC Regional Director for ORC and during this time seconded to lead several exchange and FIX-related projects with OMX. Jack Schwager serves as Investment Director at the Fortune Group, an alternative asset management firm that is a member of the Close Brothers Group, a London-based investment bank founded in 1878. Gavin White, the Head of CFD Sales and Trading at MF Global HK, has 20 years experience as a trader and executive at top-tier international investment banks. From 1991 to 1998, Gavin was Head of Foreign Exchange Trading for Citibank Australia a division of the world's largest forex trading business. Kirk is the managing director for Principal Global Investors, Asia ex Japan, and the Chief Executive Officer of Principal Global Investors (Singapore). Kirk has regional responsibility for all sales, operational, legislative and client matters, and matrix-reporting responsibilities for locally based investment management. Kirk is also an extended member of Principal Global Investors operating committee.
Kirk joined Bankers Trust Australia (BT) in 1988 and the Principal Financial Group in 1999 through its acquisition of the BT funds management business. Kirk received an MBA from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management (awarded the Allen Knott Scholar award university medal for outstanding academic achievement), and a Bachelor of science degree from the University of Wales. Kirk is a fellow of FINSIA and a member of the executive committee for IMAS (Singapore).
Mr TK Yap, CFA, is Executive Director at OCBC Securities where he oversees institutional execution and electronic connectivity at the firm, as well as its alternative products desk and regional dealing desk. His 25 years in the investment and securities business spans local and foreign firms, buy and sell sides, distribution and origination. His stockbroking background involved stints as head of research and head of sales of a regional brokerage in the early 90s. He joined OCBC Securities in 1998 to start its broker dealer sales trading and electronic execution business, targeting the cash, derivatives, portfolio trading and proprietary desks of US and European broker dealers as well as electronic trading networks.
TK serves on the Board of Governors of the CFA Institute, the SGX Securities Committee, and was part of the MAS Capital Markets Committee 2009.
Dr Zhou Changjiu is currently the Centre Director of the Advanced Robotics and Intelligence Control Centre (ARICC), a Technology & Innovation Centre (TIC) at Singapore Polytechnic (SP), where he founded Humanoid Robotics group, Robo-Erectus (www.robo-erectus.org) which is one of the foremost leading teams in the humanoid league. ARICC is one of the leading robotic soccer research laboratories and has won 3 gold, 8 silver and 2 bronze awards in RoboCup and FIRA since 2001. ARICC's robots have also been productized and sold to more than 30 universities worldwide. Dr Zhou is currently a guest professor at Jilin University. He was a visiting scholar in the Computational Learning and Motor Control Laboratory, University of Southern California, from November 2003 to March 2004, Polytechnic University of Madrid in June and December 2001, September 2002, and Italian Institute of Technology in October 2007.
Dr Zhou has been a member of the RoboCup Executive Committee since 2003, where he was Chair of the Humanoid League in 2003, 2004 and 2008. He is the General Chair of RoboCup 2010 which will held in Singapore. He is the founding chairman of RoboCup Singapore National Committee, member of International Robotic Olympia Committee (IROC). He is an associate editor of the International Journal of Humanoid Robotics (IJHR) and the IES Journal B: Intelligent Devices and Systems (IDS). He had served as guest editor for several international journal special issues, e.g. Fuzzy Sets and Systems, Robotics and Autonomous Systems etc. Dr Zhou is actively involved in developing and commercializing educational robots and service robots aiming at endowing robots with the ability to help people through individual assistance and team cooperation. His current research interest is developing robot-assisted system for healthcare and eldercare. He has published over 150 journal and conference papers and 4 edited-books by Springer.
