Reinhardt Damm, born in 1964, joined Metzler in 2001. As Head of the Trading Desk and the Middle Office/Advisory Desk he is responsible for order execution, efficient order settlement and the ensuring of execution quality. Since October 2010 he is also responsible for the internal und external reporting. From 1992 to 2001, he served at Dresdner Bank Investment Group in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, in various positions. From 1994 to 2001, he was responsible for the whole product range of money market and tax optimized funds and from 1998 on he was co-head of the fund management trading desk. From 1991 to 1992, he completed the internal investment banking program at Dresdner Bank AG, Frankfurt/Main. Prior to that, he spent three years with Dresdner Bank AG in Düsseldorf, Germany, as a trader for public-sector bonds (from 1989 to 1991) and in the technical settlement of securities (from 1988 to 1989). In 1994, Mr. Damm graduated as Investment Analyst/DVFA (CEFA), and in 1992 as „Bankfachwirt“ from the Industry and Trade Chamber of Commerce.
Prof. Dr. Peter Gomber holds the Chair of e-Finance at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, University of Frankfurt since December 2004. He is Co-Chair and Member of the Board of the E-Finance Lab, a co-operation between the Universities of Frankfurt and Darmstadt and a network of industry partners from financial services. In the E-Finance Lab, he manages the research layer „Electronic Financial Markets and Market Infrastructures“. His academic work focuses on market microstructure and auction theory, institutional trading, innovative concepts/technologies for electronic trading and post trading systems and information systems in Finance. Before joining the University of Frankfurt, he worked as a Director, Head of Market Development Cash Market in the Trading & Clearing Services Division of Deutsche Börse AG, Frankfurt from 2000 to 2004, where he developed new products and market models for cash market trading on Xetra and managed several strategic and regulatory projects at Deutsche Börse AG. Since 2011, Prof. Dr. Gomber is a member of the Exchange Council of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FSE). Furthermore, he is a member of the Academic Committee of the Deutsches Aktieninstitut (DAI).
Michael Bellaro was recently names Head of Equity, Derivative and Passive FX Trading at Deutsche Asset Management (DeAM). In his role, he will be responsible for overseeing our primary investment hub in Frankfurt, Germany, that executes trades in global equity, derivatives, and passive foreign exchange for all business lines. Michael Bellaro began his securities career in the over the counter department of Paine Webber in the 1980’s, responsible for many of the department’s operational needs. In 1983 he was put in charge of the firm’s trade support area for the Options trading desk. In 1984, the firm asked him to be responsible for the building and creating of the firm’s international settlement area, to support their new international arbitrage trading operation. At the end of 1984, he was then hired to join the international arbitrage trading desk, where he successfully managed at $25 mln trading book. He also spent time in the firm’s London office with responsibility for conducting the market making responsibilities of the firm’s international positions at the initiation of SEAQ in 1987 and 1988. In 1988, he joined Scudder Stevens & Clark as a senior trader. He took charge of the International trading desk in 1992 and was named Managing Director in 1994 and named Partner (one of the youngest in firm history) in 1995. At Scudder he has been credited with building the first 24 hour centralized trading desk in the world, established in 1992. Was one of the first US buy-side trading desks to move to sector trading in January of 1999. He was a senior member of the International Trader Forum Advisory Board (1997-2002) and was directly involved in the creation and building of this venue which allowed international traders to discuss market trends, idea generation and address current industry trends. He is a former board member of the International Securities Traders Association of New York (STANY). He was a former member of the London Stock Exchange US Advisory Committee that was directly responsible for the London Stock Exchange moving to an electronic order book in 1997.
Sönke Steinert absolvierte sein Studium zum Diplom-Kaufmann an der TU Bergakademie Freiberg im Jahr 2006. Im gleichen Jahr begann Steinert seinen beruflichen Werdegang im Wertpapierhandel bei der equinet AG in Frankfurt am Main, wo er die Händlerprüfung ablegte. Seit Dezember 2007 verstärkt er das Equity Trading Desk der Quoniam Asset Management GmbH. Er betreut dort eigenverantwortlich den Handel globaler Aktien und Devisen. Dabei befasst er sich insbesondere mit der Auswahl und Umsetzung von Handelsstrategien, sowie Algorithmic Trading und den Handel über alternative Handelsplätze und Liquiditätsquellen. Darüber hinaus betreut er die konzeptionelle Weiterentwicklung der Order- und Execution-Management Systeme der Quoniam.
Tobias Preis is an Associate Professor of Behavioural Science and Finance at Warwick Business School. In 2007, he founded Artemis Capital Asset Management. His recent research has aimed to carry out large scale experiments on complex social and economic systems by exploiting the volumes of data being generated by our interactions with technology. Peter is a Lecturer at ZHAW since 2013. Peter does quant research about rule-based investment products in the fixed income, FX and commodities space together with asset managers. Prior to joining ZHAW, he was a partner at Fortinbras Asset Management from 2009 to 2013 and previously he was a Managing Director and Head of Quantitative Research at Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. from 1999 to 2009. Currently, Peter focuses on the influence of correlation regimes on trading models.
Guillermo Hernández Sampere begann 1996 bei der Finacor Rabe AG im Rentenhandel bevor er 1998 zur zum Aktien Sales-Trading wechselte, wo er bis 2001 tätig war. Nach einem Jahr als Sales-Trader bei der Seydler AG wechselte Herr Hernández 2002 als Head of Trading bei dem Hedgefond Absolute Capital Management in Spanien. Im Frühjahr 2007 wechselte Herr Hernández zur FPM AG in Frankfurt. Seitdem ist er bei dem Unternehmen als Head of Trading tätig.
Martin heads up ITG’s Sales/Marketing and Relationship Management functions across Northern Europe (with a particular focus on German speaking countries), covering all ITG trade execution and technology services as well as analytical and investment research products. He joined ITG in 2000 after working in product and market development roles at LIFFE and Deutsche Börse. Martin holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (BWL) from Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.
Andrew Morgan is Co-Head Equity Trading EMEA. Andrew joined Deutsche Bank in 2004 from the Equities Division of Goldman Sachs where he worked for 6 years. He began his career at PWC and is an ACA.
Christian Hesse is the senior quantitative strategist for Autobahn Equity Product Development in Europe and is responsible for research and development on Deutsche Bank’s electronic and algorithmic trading platform for equities. Christian joined Deutsche Bank in 2009 from TU Berlin, after a 10 year research career in academia focused on applied biomedical signal processing, machine learning and statistics.
Rudolf Siebel trägt im BVI Bundesverband Investment und Asset Management e.V., Frankfurt, die Verantwortung für Recht, Statistik und Marktanalyse, Ausbildung und Mitgliederservice sowie EDV und Organisation. Er ist Mitglied des deutschen SEPA-Rates, eingerichtet durch Bundesministerium der Finanzen und Deutscher Bundesbank. Er ist stellvertretendes Board-Mitglied des Europäischen Fonds und Asset Management Verbandes (EFAMA) und leitet dessen Fund Processing Standardisation Group (FPSG). Er ist Vice Chair der internationalen Wertpapierstandardisierungsvereinigung Securities Market Practice Group (SMPG).
Sören Steinert joined Quoniam's equities team in September 2006 and is heading Equities trading. Sören studied business administration at the European University Viadrina (EUV) in Frankfurt an der Oder, Germany, and started his professional career at Concord Effekten AG in 2001. In 2005 Sören changed to Close Brothers Seydler AG where he held the position of Head of European Equity Trading.

Stefan Thomsen ist Senior Derivatives Trader bei der Union Investment Institutional. Seine Arbeitsschwerpunkte liegen hier im Bereich zentraler Handel von Aktien- und Rentenderivaten, Erarbeitung von Anlagevorschlägen für das Portfoliomanagement, Overlaymanagement und Durchführung der Leihe. Zuvor war er als Equity Derivatives Trader bei der HSH Nordbank mit dem Fokus auf Market Making für Indexoptionen und den eigenverantwortlichen Nostrohandel sowie als Equity Derivatives Trader bei Vereins- und Westbank tätig.
Raymond M. Tierney III is the chief executive officer and president of Bloomberg Tradebook LLC, an electronic agency broker for institutional traders, broker-dealers, hedge fund managers, plan sponsors, market makers, and portfolio managers worldwide. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Mr. Tierney was at Morgan Stanley for 16 years, starting in 1994 as an executive director and senior sales trader, elected in 1998 as a managing director and named head of North America cash sales trading in 2004. He became global head of equity trading for Morgan Stanley Investment Management in 2006 with responsibility for leading MSIM’s worldwide trading efforts. He started his Wall Street career as a trader at Paine Webber (1981-1986), served as a vice president at First Boston (1986-1991) and at UBS Warburg as a vice president and sales trader (1991-1994). Mr. Tierney received a bachelor's of arts degree from Villanova University. He is on the board of directors of the National Organization of Investment Professionals (NOIP) and serves as executive director of The Mike Foundation. Mr. Tierney also is involved with Wings Over Wall Street and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Erik Tham is heading the algorithmic order execution team at the Fixed Income execution / buy-side trading desk of UBS Wealth Management, one of Europe’s leading buy-side houses for Fixed Income securities. Erik joined UBS in 2005 and has since then been working in Fixed Income on different positions for both the UBS Investment Bank and UBS Wealth Management. He's been with the execution / buy-side trading desk since 2008. Before joining UBS, Erik has been a business consultant with Accenture for 6 years, where he was engaged in numerous capital market projects, mostly for stock- and derivatives exchanges. Erik is based in Zurich and holds a Master degree in Physics.
Gero Breuer leitet seit März 2010 das Trading/Orderdesk bei der BayernInvest. Von 2003 bis 2010 arbeitete er bei Allianz Global Investors und DeAM/DWS als Portfoliomanager im quantitativen Management. Einen besonderen Schwerpunkt bildeten hier die OTC-Derivate. Von 1998 bis 2002 arbeitete er auf der Sell-Side bei Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein und Consors Capital als Analyst. Als Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur von der TU Darmstadt legt er großem Wert auf technologische Innovation und Effizienz. Zuletzt verantwortete er den Aufbau des Collateral-Managements sowie die Projektverantwortung für EMIR.

Currently some 230 European banks and broker firms from 20 countries use the Xetra system. Over 1,000 ETFs, 400 ETCs and ETNs, 10,000 equities from 70 countries, 26,000 corporate and government bonds and 1 million structured products are traded on Xetra – more than on any other trading venue. Since 1998, Mr. Reck has held a number of leadership and project management positions with Deutsche Börse Group such as Head of Xetra Market Design and Functionality. In 2003, he became a Managing Director and was responsible for Group Functionality, from 2007 on for Group Strategy. Since 2007, he also is a lecturer at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Chair of Corporate Finance. Martin is a German native. He holds a Diploma in Computer Science from the University of Dortmund. He also holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems of the Institute for Information Systems, University of St. Gallen.
Per Lovén joined Liquidnet's London office in 2007 and is now their European Head of Corporate Strategy and Product Management. In this role, he oversees strategic initiatives, new product offerings, and liquidity strategy for Liquidnet in EMEA. Furthermore, his areas of responsibility include developing relationships with liquidity partners, analysts, regulators, and vendors. Previously, Per was Head of Pre-Sales at SimCorp Ltd. Per is a native of Sweden, he holds a MSc in Business Administration and Economics from the School of Economics at Lund University and has also studied at ESCP Europe Business School.
Behrad is Head of Trading at Austrian based asset manager Erste Spar-Invest.
Edgar Walk, born in 1972, joined Metzler in 2000. As Chief Economist within the asset management division, he develops quantitative fundamental models for currencies, equities and bond markets. He is also responsible for the formulation of the global economic outlook. Mr. Walk holds a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Tübingen in Germany and spent a semester at the University of Doshisha in Kyoto, Japan. In addition, he completed the “Advanced Studies in International Economic Policy Research“ program at the Institute of World Economy in Kiel, Germany.

He is responsible for Sales and Business Development as well as Design and Functionality for the electronic trading system Xetra®. Over 1,000 ETFs, 400 ETCs and ETNs, 10,000 equities from 70 countries, 26,000 corporate and government bonds and 1 million structured products are traded on Xetra – more than on any other trading venue. Since 1999, Mr. Krogmann has held a number of leadership and project management positions with Deutsche Börse Group such as the ongoing development of the Xetra trading system, the introduction and ongoing development of the exchange-traded fund business (XTF® segment) as well as enhancements of the specialist trading functionalities. Michael is a German native. He holds a Masters Degree in Economics from Justus-Liebig-University, Germany.
Prior to his role at Lakeview Capital Market Services, Peter managed significant hedge fund type investment portfolios and quantitative trading departments for Cooper Neff, Salomon Brothers, HypoVereinsbank and Credit Lyonnais, amongst others. He has over 15 years experience in the development and running of sophisticated automated trading operations. He holds an MBA degree from the Owen Graduate School at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, USA. He is a frequent speaker on complex arbitrage strategies, with a focus on volatility arbitrage and high frequency algorithmic trading. He is also a well known consultant to the investment community with regards to trading, risk management, operational and strategic issues.
