Jean-Pierre Jouyet

Jean-Pierre Jouyet est président de l’Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) depuis 2008. Ancien élève de SciencesPo et de l’Ena, inspecteur général des finances, il s’engage très vite en politique et rejoint le cabinet de Jacques Delors à la Commission européenne de 1991 à 1995, avant d’être nommé directeur-adjoint de cabinet du premier Ministre Lionel Jospin (1997-2000). Il alterne ensuite des postes de responsabilité dans le secteur public (Directeur du Trésor) et privé (Barclays). Au moment de l’ouverture, et pour préparer la présidence française de l’Union européenne, il devient Secrétaire d’État chargé des affaires européennes dans le premier gouvernement du président de la République, Nicolas Sarkozy (2007-2008). Haut fonctionnaire et intellectuel écouté, il a également animé ou présidé divers think tanks politiques (Club témoin, Les Gracques, Institut Aspen France). Parmi ses récents ouvrages, on retiendra : N'enterrez pas la France, avec Philippe Mabille (éd. Robert Laffont, février 2007) ; Une Présidence de crises, avec Sophie Coignard (éd. Albin Michel, 2009) qui raconte les six mois de présidence française du Conseil de l'Union européenne ; Nous les avons tant aimés, ou la chanson d'une génération (éd. Robert Laffont, novembre 2010).

François Bonnin

Mr. Bonnin is the CEO and Founding Partner of John Locke Investments SA, a company which was set up near Paris, France in 2001. JLI investment programs are based on the systematic application of computerized trading strategies, with a particular focus on the dynamic management of risk. The strategies are purely quantitative in nature and are based on in-depth analysis of market price movements. Since the beginning of his investment management career, Mr. Bonnin has always held the belief that sustainable returns are achievable through a commitment to disciplined and rigorous quantitative research. This belief permeates all aspects of the research effort within the firm and is also ingrained in the corporate culture of John Locke Investments. Prior to creating John Locke Investments, Mr. Bonnin was in charge of Research and Alternative Investments at ING France from September 1998 to June 2001. Between March 1992 and September 1998, Mr. Bonnin was Managing Director and Founding Partner of CAP STARDEX SA, a French AMF regulated asset management company, specializing in alternative systematic strategies. From September 1989 to March 1992, Mr. Bonnin was a director of the convertible bonds trading desk at RAFE SA. Mr. Bonnin graduated from the Institut Superieur de Gestion in 1986.

He joined OP-Pohjola Group May 2000. Simo holds a MSc (Econ) from University of Joensuu and a BSc (Eng) from Wartsila Institute of Technology.

Karel Lannoo (°1961) is chief executive of the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), one of the leading independent European think tanks. He has published some books and numerous articles in specialised magazines and journals on general European policy, and specifically financial regulation and supervision matters. His latest book The Mifid Revolution was published by Cambridge in September 2009. Karel Lannoo is an independent director of BME (Bolsas Y Mercados Espanoles), the company that runs the Madrid stock exchange. He also directs the European Capital Markets Institute (ECMI) and the European Credit Research Institute (ECRI), both separate legal entities which are managed by CEPS.

Kay Swinburne

European Parliament

Kay Swinburne is Member of the European Parliament since July 2009. Dr. Swinburne is currently a member of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee and temporary Committee on Financial, Economic and Social Crisis, and is the European Conservatives and Reformists co-ordinator for both committees. Other responsibilities include being a substitute member on the Foreign Affairs Committee, member of the European Economic Area delegation, member of the EuroMed delegation and a substitute member on the Palestinian delegation. Dr Swinburne also serves as a Welsh Conservative Party Board Member. Prior to that she was an elected member of a UK unitary authority where she served as the Committee Chairman for Health Scrutiny. Following a period within the pharmaceutical industry, Dr Swinburne began a career in finance at a boutique investment bank in London as a specialist advising on R&D pipeline valuations and privatisations and acquisitions of pharmaceutical operations in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia. Dr. Swinburne joined Deutsche Bank where she led their European Healthcare team in corporate finance, specialising in advisory work for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, including M&A, venture capital investments, mezzanine financing and IPOs. Her work as a corporate financier led to her subsequent position as a Director of an investment management company where she advised on company valuations and portfolio selection. She holds a PhD in Medical Biochemistry, studying the pathogenesis of polycystic kidney disease and an MBA in Finance.

Jean-Philippe Bouchaud

Dr. Jean-Philippe Bouchaud was appointed Chairman and Chief Scientist of CFM in October 2001. At CFM, Dr. Bouchaud supervises, together with Dr. Potters, the research team of CFM, and contributes by maintaining strong links between CFM’s research and the academic world. After studying at the French Lycée in London, Dr. Bouchaud graduated from the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, France, where he obtained his Ph.D. in theoretical physics. He was then appointed as a researcher by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (""CNRS"") until 1992. After a year at the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge (UK), he joined the Service de Physique de l’État Condensé at the Commissariat à Energie Atomique (""CEA"") at Saclay (France). Dr. Bouchaud became interested in theoretical and empirical finance in 1991. His research in quantitative finance led him to founding the research company Science & Finance SA (""S&F"") in 1994 together with Mr. Aguilar. S&F merged with CFM in July 2000. Dr. Bouchaud is today a well-known authority within the field of Econophysics. His work, summarized in the book Theory of Financial Risks and Derivative Pricing (Cambridge University Press), includes new statistical models of returns and correlations, extreme risk control and option pricing beyond Black-Scholes. Dr. Bouchaud was awarded the IBM Young Scientist prize and the CNRS Silver Medal. He is also the Editor in Chief of Quantitative Finance.

Prior to Guardian, Sri worked in Princeton, New Jersey from 1993 to 2001 for Global Value Investors, a quantitative firm specializing in Global Tactical Allocation. Sri graduated from the University of Bombay, is a Chartered Accountant, Cost and Works (India), and received his Masters and subsequent MBA in Applied Finance from Rutgers Graduate School of Management. Sri is a frequent speaker at quantitative forums and conferences on topics relating to Globalization, Risk management and Quantitative R&D.

Jean-Baptiste de Franssu is Former Chief Executive Officer of Invesco Europe. He joined Invesco France in July 1990, moving to his current position when Invesco Europe was founded in 1996. He is a member of the INVESCO Worldwide management committee. Before joining Invesco, Jean-Baptiste was a Director of Groupe Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations in France, and prior to this a Financial Editor at INVESTIR magazine. Jean-Baptiste is a graduate of the ESC Group Business School in Rheims, France and holds a BA in European Business Administration from Middlesex University in the UK. He also holds a post-graduate degree in Actuarial Studies from Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris. He is also the former President of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) and also sits on a number for boards for Charity organisations.

Previously, in the same Directorate-General, she has been responsible for credit rating agencies, investor-compensation schemes and for the establishment of an EU regulatory framework for the provision of services (Services Directive). Before that she worked in the Directorate-General for Trade, in the field of bilateral and multilateral negotiations on technical regulations, including at World Trade Organisation (WTO) level. She started her professional career in the European Commission in 1997, in the Directorate-General for Enterprise, in the field of industrial goods and better regulation. She holds a degree in Law by the University of Barcelona, a post-graduate course in international relations (CEI, Centre for International Studies) and a Bachelor's degree in Economics.

In this capacity, she is responsible for managing the services for equity and fixed income markets operations in Europe. These businesses are composed of several dimensions such as market and systems operations, micro-markets structure, liquidity provider programs, order book surveillance monitoring, Exchange Traded Products, Global Index Group, and business development. In this role the company delivers multiple products, for example, the Regulated Market place, SmartPool, NYSE Arca Europe, and TCS, into our client base using a common operations architecture. She has over sight of people in multiple locations: Paris, NY, Amsterdam, London, Brussels, and Lisbon. Prior to her current position, Ms. Dallmer served as EVP of Global Exchange Traded Products & Index Services for NYSE Euronext, responsible for driving the global expansion of trading and listing services for the Exchange Traded Products and for direct oversight of the Lead Market Maker program for all new primary listed securities on NYSE Arca. Prior to joining NYSE Euronext, Ms. Dallmer held various positions at Archipelago since 2001, until the company’s merger with New York Stock Exchange in 2006, becoming NYSE Group, Inc. Ms. Dallmer has been a member of the Women’s Bond Club, a non-profit networking organization for women on Wall Street, since 1995 and recently served as the Club’s Co-President of the Board of Directors during her eight year term on the Board. She is currently a Director on the Borough of Manhattan Community College Foundation board. Ms. Dallmer is also served as a collegiate advisor to the Delta Gamma chapter at Columbia University. Ian Jack is the Business Development Director, European and Asian Connectivity for NYSE Technologies, the commercial technology business of NYSE Euronext.

Mr. Jack is responsible for further developing the Secure Financial Transaction Infrastructure (SFTI ®) platform in Europe and Asia and continued migration of legacy networks. The SFTI business unit has two core functions, providing low-latency market access for exchange members and also connecting customers to co-location, value added services and content applications.
