The 7th Annual TradeTech Japan brings together local, regional and international heads of trading and technology to meet, discuss and share best practices on the future of trading in Japan. With over 200 Japanese focused trading and technology professionals in attendance, TradeTech Japan is the only event in 2013 that you need to attend in order to keep on top of the dramatic changes in Japanese capital markets.

With increasing synergy between technology and trading functions, this year’s event offers you the best of both worlds, covering key issues that matters to traders (TradeTech) and critical challenges that those working in technology (Trading Architecture) are facing. The morning plenary sessions cover topics that matter to both: Economic outlooks for Japan, the changing financial marketplace and the importance of HFT to Japan.

For the afternoon we break the conference down into two dedicated streams to cover your needs whatever your area of expertise. Our trading stream covers critical issues such as the changing buy/sell side relationship, the growth and development of algos and the increasing importance of dark pools whilst our technology stream deals with the new technology requirements created by the unveiling of the JPX as well as SOR’s and the latency race.

The result is a one day event covering all aspects of trading and providing you with the chance to meet over 200 senior representatives of Japanese capital markets and beyond. You only need to take one day out of the office to keep up to date with current changes and hear from those in the know about what’s coming next.

We look forward to seeing you there

With so much happening in Japan in 2013 here are just a few of the exciting highlights of this year’s TradeTech Japan

  • Abenomics- The election of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the end of 2012 has breathed much needed confidence, volume and liquidity into the Japanese market. We discuss just what difference Abenomics has made to the life of the international and domestic trader and what more should his policies do in order to create a competitive Japan.
  • The new JPX- The turn of the year saw the official launch of the Japan Exchange Group (JPX), the result of the merger between the TSE and OSE. TradeTech Japan will feature an exclusive interview with Yoshinori Suzuki, Executive Vice President and CIO of the newly formed JPX. Suzuki-San will be sharing his insights on how the JPX has fared in it’s first 6 months of operations
  • HFT in Japan: Ever since the launch of Arrowhead Tokyo has been Asia’s capital for High Frequency Trading. However, as other regional centres, notably Hong Kong and Singapore also unveil new platforms designed to attract HFT players, Tokyo’s place as number one is under threat. We discuss just how current market changes are affecting a global HFT’s Japan strategy and what they need to see if they are to continue operating primarily in Japan
  • Yasuhito Omori, Deputy Secretary General of the FSA will be delivering a keynote speech on the current rule changes recently implemented or set to become law in Japan. In particular he will be discussing the reasons behind the lifting of the TOB rule and how he expects to see the markets respond
  • Exclusive roundtables with those leading change in Japan: we finish TradeTech Japan with four roundtables focused on what effect current market changes are having on you and your role. Our roundtables will give you more time to meet more people and share your best practices
