Richard Leung joined Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) in October 2011. He is currently the Co-Head of HKEx’s IT Division. In his position, Mr. Leung works with the Platform Development team to spearhead a number of strategic system developments including the next generation market data and securities trading systems, as well as the central gateway development. Mr. Leung has worked with exchange and financial sector technology over the past two decades. Prior to joining HKEx, Mr. Leung was the Chief Technology Officer for Chi-X Global, where he was responsible for directing trading platform development, technical support and operations activities for all of the company’s market centres globally. Mr. Leung joined Chi-X Global in conjunction with Chi-X Global’s 2008 acquisition of Cicada. Upon joining Cicada in 1999, he established a technology centre in Hong Kong responsible for software development and related support activities for the company’s real-time mission critical solutions for exchanges. Before joining Cicada, Mr. Leung held a 14-year career with Dow Jones Telerate in the Asia Pacific region, where he served in various senior technical positions. Until recently Tony Mackay was Chairman of Chi-X Global Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of global securities firm and Nomura Holdings, Inc. subsidiary Instinet. In that role he was responsible for the strategic direction of the firm’s Chi-X trading platforms, including Chi-X Europe, Chi-X Canada and Chi-X Australia. Mr. Mackay joined Instinet in 1995 as Dealing Director for Instinet’s Asia-Pacific operations, based in Hong Kong. In 1999, he moved to London to establish Instinet’s Asian operations in Europe and, in 2001, moved back to Asia, where he served as President and CEO of Instinet Japan and Head of Instinet Asia, where he was actively involved in improving the development of an alternative market for Japanese equities and the sponsorship of independent research boutiques. Peter Tierney is a principal of Saquish Partners and an Advisor at AsisEx markets and specializes in market access and financial technology solutions in the Asia region. Originally from Ireland Peter has worked in senior financial technology roles in the UK, US and Asia. Peter draws on deep subject matter expertise in both the pre- and post-trade environments, telcomms, trading architecture and data management and has a demonstrated specialty in developing platform services that bring together communities within the financial space. He joined Thomson Financial ESG (now Omgeo) in 1991 as part of the founding team and worked in London, Singapore and the company’s headquarters in Boston. Peter was part of the executive team that defined and executed the merger with the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) creating Omgeo. Peter then joined the financial extranet provider Radianz (now BT Radianz) where he led global strategic business development. Among other things, Peter and his team was instrumental in developing their low-latency proximity hosting offering in NY, London and Tokyo. Most recently Peter led the successful development of the NYSE Technologies business in Asia. Under his leadership, the business established a strong enterprise software and services revenue flow in the areas of order routing, market data and exchange technology. Peter was instrumental in the acquisition of Japan-based Metabit in 2011 and the definition of NYSE Technologies’ global Liquidity Hub strategy. Peter has established deep and successful relationships around the region with exchanges, brokers and buy-sides. Peter guest lectures on financial technology as part of Singapore Management University’s (SMU) Masters in IT (Finance) program. He is married with 2 children and is an active member of the Irish community in Singapore.

In his current role, Ian manages a hybrid regional team of sales and coverage, quantitative analysts and technology who provide local market experience that allows Citi to offer an innovative electronic execution platform which delivers global reach with local excellence. Ian holds a bachelors degree in Economics and a Masters in International Economics.

Kevin returned to Hong Kong in June 2011. In his current role as Head of Wholesale Execution Services Asia, he looks after the markets business for other broker dealers, banks and stock exchanges. From the markets perspective he leads Citi's powerful initiative to combine global execution with clearing, settlement and custody to provide customers with one stop shopping for global trading. Prior to this Kevin was the Global Head of Market Infrastructures Group at Citi. Kevin was based in London and was responsible for managing Citi's global relationships with market infrastructures and developing mutually beneficial business opportunities. Prior to joining Citi, Kevin spent 10 years at Thomson Reuters. Kevin worked across various divisions of Thomson Reuters including market data, market research and M&A data. Finaly he focused on Omgeo. Omgeo is a joint venture between DTCC and Thomson Reuters providing post trade transaction services to broker dealers, banks and fund managers. He held several positions including Regional Manager Hong Kong, Regional Director Japan and Korea, Managing Director Asia based in Singapore and his last post was Managing Director, Global Head of Relationship Management and Sales based in London. Whilst at Omgeo, Kevin helped launch "Autex" in Asia and was one of the early pioneers in bringing FIX connectivity and IOIs to the region. In addition Kevin has worked as an underwriter for Prudential Assurance Company and Price Waterhouse Coopers in an audit capacity.

Chris is located in Hong Kong from where he runs ABN’s Market Access providing ABN’s clients around the globe infrastructure access to trade the worlds electronic equity, derivative and commodity exchanges. Chris has built this business up for ABN AMRO Clearing over the last 12 years. Chris has had previous trading roles with Barclays Capital and Natwest Markets, and has also been managing Director for of a large independent electronic trading software vendor. Prior to his current role, Alan was Head of Market Data for Asia/Pacific for UBS based in Hong Kong. He has 19 years experience in investment banking technology roles and vendor technology roles in both Europe and Asia. Alan was previously Regional Head of Market Data for Global Markets Equities IT in Deutsche Bank, Hong Kong where he was responsible for their low-latency data implementation and API strategy across APAC. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Alan was with Thomson Reuters for 7 years where he ran the Enterprise IMS business in Asia (Enterprise Platform) and had previously worked on many new initiatives such as TRHS hosting in the US and Machine Readable News in the Innovations Group; Also in his time at Reuters, Alan spent two years in Thailand off-shoring 2nd level engineering and support for RMDS. Prior to Thomson Reuters, Alan had spent 7 years with JPMorgan Chase running their UK Market Data service delivery and architecture teams. He has a degree in Physics with Computing and has lived in Hong Kong for the last 4 years with his wife and two children.

Started my career in Reuters Mexico in 1995 as an installations, field support and open systems manager in charge of technical operations for the country. Transferred to Reuters NY in 1999 where I worked until 2002 as a senior systems engineer in charge of Reuters and Tibco product integration on client systems. From 2002 to 2007 I worked for Barclays Capital in NY as a regional Market Data Technical Services manager in charge of all Market Data infrastructure and distribution platforms for the bank. In 2007 and until 2008 I joined STAC research, a performance benchmarking company that specializes in low latency benchmarking for capital markets workloads as a Managing Consultant. From 2008 to now I have been working as a Market Data Engineer (Managing the team since July) in Deutsche Bank in Japan designing, implementing and supporting Market Data infrastructure, acted as Project Manager for the TSE Arrowhead Collocation implementation.

He has 10 years experience in algorithmic trading, both prop and agency, including several years at both UBS and JPMorgan.
