Arjen is MD Hong Kong office of the Korea founded Ingensoma Trading Group, a HF proprietary trading firm active in the Asia Pacific region. Arjen is currently involved in the firm's Corporate development and Management after having traded Cash equity and Derivatives for more than three years. After obtaining a masters degree in Financial Economics in the Netherlands he has subsequently been a marketmaker in Equity Derivatives with Optiver Europe and APAC for four years as well as Senior Risk manager with ABN Amro Clearing APAC for two years. Arjen moved to Hong Kong four years ago to set-up Ingensoma's HK office and started to trade Equity Derivatives. Two years later he took the initiative to start high- and medium frequency Algo-trading in the Cash equity market, an activity which has become an important pillar for the recent growth of the firm.

Dr. Haksun Li has a B.S., an M.S., in Pure and Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago, an M.S., and a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. Haksun Li is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor of the Department of Mathematics, National University of Singapore, an Adjunct Associate Professor of Banking & Finance at Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He is also an industry fellow.
Hideki Ishibashi is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the General Counsel division, based in Hong Kong. He is the bank’s Chief Compliance Officer in Asia-Pacific covering its Investment Banking, Private Banking and Asset Management divisions across the region. Mr. Ishibashi joined Credit Suisse in May 2006 from Goldman Sachs, where he spent 12 years as a Managing Director in the Japan compliance team. Prior to that, he worked for Nomura for eight years within their investment banking and legal departments. Mr. Ishibashi holds a degree in Master of Corporate Laws from the New York University School of Law.
Jonathan Leung joined HKEx in 2011 as Vice President and Head of Hosting Services responsible for establishing the exchange’s hosting services business. Mr Leung has 22 years of management experience in the IT, telecommunications and data centre industry. Before joining HKEx, Mr Leung was Managing Director at Equinix, a global collocation service provider where he spearheaded the growth strategy in Hong Kong and China. Mr Leung co-founded NetTasking Inc., a network management service provider, in 1998. Prior to that he was the General Manager at Asia Online, one of the first generation regional Internet Service Providers. Mr Leung started his career at IBM as a Systems Engineer. Jonathan holds a M.Sc. in Investment Management from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and an M.B.A. from Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Scott Knudsen is the Head of Trading for IMC Financial Markets in Hong Kong, a position he has held since September 2011. In this role he is responsible for IMC strategic direction and trading strategies in Asia. Previously he was Director of Index Options Trading for IMC in Chicago, where he oversaw the firm’s market making strategies in index, fixed income, currency, and commodity options. Scott joined IMC in 2003 as a derivatives trader. While in Chicago, he served on the CBOE Index Options Committee and was instrumental in helping launch the electronically traded SPX PM-settled contract. He received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University.

Youngran's major responsibilities are close to CTO, including IT Application Management across Peripheral, Front-End, Finance System, Data Integration Management as well as Enterprise & Solution Architecture. Youngran worked in multiple countries in major IT leadership role through Korea, Australia, Japan and Hong Kong over 22+ years in Finance IT Industry.

Mr. Brooks joined the Singapore Exchange (SGX) in January 2009 as a Senior Vice President and Head of Architecture and Infrastructure. His responsibilities include identifying and implementing strategic and transformational initiatives as well as, the management responsibility for IT Operations, Telecommunications and Data Centres. Prior to the SGX, Niguel was a senior manager within Markets Technology at the Australian Securities Exchange’s (ASX). He was responsible for the technical development and management of the Integrated Trading System (ITS), the 24-hour Future’s trading system (SICOM) and a software development team. Throughout his 11 year tenure he played a key role in the evolution of electronic trading within the Australian financial markets. Prior to this, Niguel's held various senior technical / network specialist roles during his 11 years with Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) main headquarters based in Asia Pacific
Richard Leung joined Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) in October 2011. He is currently the Co-Head of HKEx’s IT Division. In his position, Mr. Leung works with the Platform Development team to spearhead a number of strategic system developments including the next generation market data and securities trading systems, as well as the central gateway development. Mr. Leung has worked with exchange and financial sector technology over the past two decades. Prior to joining HKEx, Mr. Leung was the Chief Technology Officer for Chi-X Global, where he was responsible for directing trading platform development, technical support and operations activities for all of the company’s market centres globally. Mr. Leung joined Chi-X Global in conjunction with Chi-X Global’s 2008 acquisition of Cicada. Upon joining Cicada in 1999, he established a technology centre in Hong Kong responsible for software development and related support activities for the company’s real-time mission critical solutions for exchanges. Before joining Cicada, Mr. Leung held a 14-year career with Dow Jones Telerate in the Asia Pacific region, where he served in various senior technical positions. As head of technical development, he focused on developing product solutions to meet regional requirements, including local language financial terminals and the integration of regional exchange data. Mr. Leung holds a Master of Science degree in E-Commerce from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Brook Teeter joined GETCO in September of 2011. He is the Managing Director and CEO of Hong Kong. In this role, he overseas GETCO’s trading operations in Hong Kong and their GES platform across the Asian region. GETCO is a global market maker in the Fixed Income, FX, Equities and Commodities asset classes. Prior to his role at GETCO, Brook Teeter was a Director and Head of Client Trading & Execution Sales for the Asia Pacific Region at Credit Suisse. Brook has been an active member of the US and Asia Pacific FPL (FIX Protocol Limited) Steering Committee since 2000. Mr. Teeter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and advanced degrees in Finance and Marketing from the University of Delaware graduating in 1994.
Stuart is currently the Asia Pacific Head of Global Trading Technology for RBS. His team's responsibilities include the full spectrum of investment banking related infrastructure technologies, comprising electronic trading, market data, eCommerce, grid computing and execution/market connectivity services. The division's product coverage is cross asset-class and extends from front through to back office operations, from client research through to settlement and confirmation. Stuart has previously worked at JP Morgan in various capacities and prior to that spent many years travelling the world with PwC and Accenture advising Financial Services firms on internet-based wealth management and dealing propositions. Originally from the UK, Stuart graduated from university with entirely unfulfilled specialism's in predictive speech algorithms and microprocessor design.
Until recently Tony Mackay was Chairman of Chi-X Global Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of global securities firm and Nomura Holdings, Inc. subsidiary Instinet. In that role he was responsible for the strategic direction of the firm’s Chi-X trading platforms, including Chi-X Europe, Chi-X Canada and Chi-X Australia. Mr. Mackay joined Instinet in 1995 as Dealing Director for Instinet’s Asia-Pacific operations, based in Hong Kong. In 1999, he moved to London to establish Instinet’s Asian operations in Europe and, in 2001, moved back to Asia, where he served as President and CEO of Instinet Japan and Head of Instinet Asia, where he was actively involved in improving the development of an alternative market for Japanese equities and the sponsorship of independent research boutiques. In 2004, Mr. Mackay was appointed President and Managing Director of Instinet Europe Limited, during which time he spearheaded the establishment of Chi-X Europe Ltd. Mr. Mackay began his stockbroking career in 1980 in Australia and has worked for both traditional and electronic brokerage firms in Sydney, Hong Kong, London and Tokyo.
Iosif Ziman joins BFAM Partnersmulti-strategy hedge fund on June 1st but is currently Head of Technology with Nomura Principal Investments Hong Kong. He has spent the past 15 years in Asia as a technology professional with a wide range of expertise across trading systems areas including order execution, risk management, operations and control areas across equities and fixed income. Mr. Ziman holds a B.S. (1994) and a M.Sc. (1995) in Computer Science from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Chuck Chon is co-CEO of SBI Japannext PTS - Japan's largest Alternative Venue. He joined SBI Japannext in 2006 as Chief Technology Officer to spearhead the setup of exchange systems from scratch as well as spearheading the business development efforts. Before, joining SBI Japannext, he was responsible for building a profitable HFT trading desk at BNPP from scratch which he spent 10 years in various positions including the trading. Mr. Chuck Chon holds BS in Electrical and Electrics Engineering from California State University, Sacramento. He also has extensive academic training in computer science courses and various professional training courses.
Anshul Sadana has over a decade of experience in engineering management, design & software development in the networking industry. Anshul joined Arista in 2007 and is responsible for product definition and development priorities of Arista’s next generation products. He also leads all systems engineering and customer advocacy functions. Previously at Cisco, Anshul led the development of the Catalyst 4500 and 4900 product lines and also managed strategic customer relations. Anshul has an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business.
Henry Young is a founder and CEO of Trading Systems Associates plc (TS-Associates), a firm that specialises in monitoring and analysis of networks and real time financial middleware products. TS-Associates’ “TipOff” middleware analysis appliance leverages both FPGA and ASIC based hardware acceleration techniques in order to achieve real time capture, decode and analysis of 1GE and 10GE data flows. With a built in high resolution hardware based time stamping capability, TipOff is leading the charge into high resolution passive latency monitoring of direct exchange feed and transaction infrastructures. Prior to founding TS-Associates in 1999, Henry was a roving industry consultant splitting his time between London and New York with engagements for a variety of banks and exchanges. Henry led the team at MSB Consultants that, in the mid 90s, developed the RT Emulator – a product that delivered Reuters Terminal functionality integrated with six of the then available market data platforms. Henry holds an MSc in Computing from Imperial College and a BSc in Physics & Electronics from Edinburgh University.
Murat Atamer joined Credit Suisse Hong Kong in 2007. He currently heads the Electronic Execution Product, AES, for Asia Pacific. Previously, Murat headed the Quantitative Trading Strategy Team for Credit Suisse in Hong Kong, covering Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Murat was pursuing a PhD in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focusing on asset pricing and microstructure.
Eugene is the head of Algo Product Development Equities – Asia for Deutsche Bank and is based in Hong Kong. Prior to this role he was VP, Algorithmic Sales and Trading, Asia Pacific with ITG for two years. Before that he had ten years as a Consultant/Lead Developer of Algorithmic Trading systems for European equities in ITG Europe.

Neil McGovern has over 25 years experience in the software industry as a senior executive at several successful companies. Neil focuses on high performance analytics for risk, trading and compliance for Sybase's Financial Services team, and has presented at conferences around the world on the latest trends and technologies required for cutting edge performance in capital markets. Prior to Sybase, Neil was Vice President of Engineering at New Era of Networks, and CTO of Convoy Corporation, where he was a pioneer in the Enterprise Application Integration market. Neil has a degree in Computer Science and an MBA.
Chen Wang is founder and president of HXW Trading Limited, an Asia based exchange member proprietary trading firm specializing in high frequency automated trading of listed equity derivative products. Prior to forming HXW, he was Chief Technology Officer of O'Connor and Company (acquired by Fortis and now ABN Amro Bank, N.V.), specializing in providing electronic trading, and clearing services for professional market making firms, exchange participants and proprietary trading firms headquartered in Chicago. He was also head of technology architecture for Global Equity Financing division of Merrill Lynch Global Markets, where he was directly responsible for architecture of strategic initiatives such as Global Prime Brokerage, Merrill Lynch Professional Clearing and Third Party Direct Market Access. He was also responsible technology and quantitative trading for a number of hedge funds and started his career with Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group.
Samson Yuen is the Chief Technology Officer at Chi-X Japan Limited. In this role, Mr. Yuen is responsible for the trading venue’s technology and operation functions. Samson joined Chi-X Japan in Sep 2010 as Director Market Operations. Before joining Chi-X, Mr. Yuen served Deutsche Securities for 10 years, most recently as the Head of Equity Technology. Rob is a Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Electronic Trading & QPS Sales, and Head of Program Trading Sales - APAC. Prior to joining Nomura, Rob was head of Lehman Brothers’ Prime Services Origination in Asia, based in Hong Kong. While in NY, Rob was a senior member of the Equity Liquid Markets Sales force, where he ran a team focusing on Cash & Program Trading, Futures, Options, ETFs, Swaps, Risk Arbitrage, Index Changes and Derivative Related Research. Rob joined Lehman Brothers in 1998 as US Agency Program Trading Product Manager. In this role he developed a comprehensive electronic trading platform which incorporated client connectivity, quantitative research, “smart” trading strategies, access to multiple sources of liquidity and efficient operations and settlement. He was also responsible for the sales and marketing effort for program trading. He subsequently became Global Program Trading Product Manager, and focused on rewriting the common technology that supports each of the regional headquarters. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Rob was Executive Vice President and Head of Sales and Trading at Investment Technology Group (“ITG”), an agency brokerage and technology firm. Rob joined ITG in 1987 as one of its first employees. During his eleven-year tenure, he helped develop the firm’s range of advanced trading technologies, including POSIT, and helped drive their expansion into the agency brokerage business. He served as a member of ITG’s Executive Committee. Rob received a BA in Economics from Amherst College and an MBA in Finance from the NYU Graduate School of Business Administration (Stern).
Prior to his current role, Allen was the APAC Head of Compliance and Monitoring for UBS. Before that he was the Regional Head of Monitoring, Surveillance, and Investigation (“MSI”) - Asia Pacific for Deutsche Bank AG, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of Compliance monitoring systems across the region. He has been at the forefront of developing and utilising surveillance systems to manage regulatory and reputational risk, including the monitoring of electronic communication and formal Compliance risk assessment methodology. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank he successfully developed and implemented surveillance and monitoring programs for the Australian BT Fund Management Business. From 1993 to 1998 Allen was responsible for developing the Sydney Futures Exchange’s surveillance systems, investigation techniques and development of surveillance staff.
Lee is Worldwide Business Development manager for HP’s scalable, high performance solutions in Financial Services. He is focused on developing and communicating HP’s solutions in the areas of low latency market data/HFT/exchanges, compute-intensive quantitative analytics, and scale-out enterprise datacenters for FSI. He helps HP regional teams and customers understand HP’s value-added systems, optimized for performance and often integrated with hardware, middleware, and application components from HP partners for production-worthy deployable solutions. He brings demanding customer requirements back to HP product engineering divisions to ensure future products meet evolving needs. Lee joined HP in 1996 and served as HP’s Business and Alliances manager for the Computer-Aided Engineering industry for over a decade before turning his focus to FSI. Lee has a Sc.B. in Engineering from Brown University, an Sc.M. in Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and over 25 years of industrial experience in manufacturing, software engineering, product marketing, alliance management, and technical sales.
Tobias Hekster is MD at True Partner Education and is a senior strategist at Algorithmic Trading Group in Hong Kong. Mr Hekster also teaches at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the National Taiwan University. Mr Hekster has been actively trading for the past 14 years in different roles in several markets across the world. Starting at IMC as a pit trader in Amsterdam, Mr Hekster established the off-floor arbitrage desk, headed the Chicago office in the transition from floor trading to electronic trading and set up the volatility trading desk in Hong Kong.
Mr Ragless joined HKEx in September 2010 as SVP and Head of Platform Development. Mr Ragless’ role is to transform the capabilities and core systems of the HKEx into a competitive and leading global force in IT. Mr Ragless has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry. He moved to Asia in 1989, where he gained his entry into the world of capital markets developing the AMS/1 trading system for the then Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. He subsequently worked as a consultant for the SEHK on the development of AMS/3 in 1999 – 2000, and defined the requirements for the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s new trading system in 2002. Before joining HKEx, Mr Ragless worked for NYSE Technologies for 5 years, heading up their exchange business in Asia. During this time, he worked on trading system projects for numerous exchanges including the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Tokyo Financial Exchange, the Philippine Stock Exchange and Bursa Malaysia. He also lead the design phase of the initiative by ASEAN exchanges to create a regional trading link
Mr York is a Director and Chief Executive Officer of Alt 224 - previously called the Empyreal Investments Group. Mr York’s has been involved in derivatives and equity trading for over 20 years. In 1992, Mr York commenced trading Managed Accounts. In 1996 Mr York formed his first hedge fund and in 2004 merged with the Empyreal Investments Group. As CEO of the Empyreal Investments Group Mr York manages a diverse group of traders specialising in systematic trading of the global derivative markets. Mr York’s strong background in trading remains a significant factor as he continues to work with Empyreal’s traders in the development and implementation of their systems and methods.
Del Abdullah is the Head Of Electronic Trading Technology at Daiwa Capital Markets. In the last decade, Mr Abdullah has worked on building low-latency routing, crossing, TCA, compliance and algorithmic trading systems in California, New York and Hong Kong. Mr. Abdullah is also a member of the FPL technical subcommittee. Prior to joining Daiwa Capital Markets, he has held various positions at Investment Technology Group.
Daniel Lee has 14 years of experience in stock broking. He is responsible for the Electronic Trading (DMA), Securities Lending, ETF and Commission Sharing Arrangement business. Prior to joining DBS Vickers, Daniel worked in equity sales, sales trading and research with WI Carr.? Before that he was doing research at the University of Cambridge. Daniel holds an first class honours degree from the Queen’s University of Belfast. He also holds an MBA and a LL.M
Martin Haines is the Head of Solutions, Asia for Thomson Reuters. Martin leads the regional team in this role across a broad spectrum of geographies, markets and solutions. Previously, Martin was Global Head of Sales for Reuters Trading for Fixed Income, Reuters Product Business Owner for Data Management Solutions, Sales Director for Reuters Financial Markets Group, and the Reuters representative in forming Atriax, a joint venture with DB, JPM and Citibank, which merged with FXAll, in the UK. He has also worked for Syntegra (s/w integration arm British Telecom), Dow Jones Telerate and NCR Corporation in a variety of sales, divisional and marketing roles. Asia is Martin’s first international assignment and he has spent two years in the region. He is based in Singapore. Martin received a First Class BA Honours Degree from Leicester University (UK) in Business Studies with Finance.
Eugen Tjong is Head of Enterprise Solutions Real-Time, Asia Pacific for Thomson Reuters. In this role Mr. Tjong has responsibility for all Real-Time solutions within the Asia Pacific region which includes all the Real-Time Feeds, Low Latency Feeds and Hosting solutions. Before moving to Hong Kong, Mr Tjong was based in London where his roles among others included, Business Manager Enterprise Information, Head of Sales EMEA Low Latency Feeds, Head of Integration and Head of Sales Northern Europe. Mr. Tjong was both educated in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom and has a degree in business and a PhD in Engineering.
Peter Tierney is a principal of Saquish Partners and an Advisor at AsisEx markets and specializes in market access and financial technology solutions in the Asia region. Originally from Ireland Peter has worked in senior financial technology roles in the UK, US and Asia. Peter draws on deep subject matter expertise in both the pre- and post-trade environments, telcomms, trading architecture and data management and has a demonstrated specialty in developing platform services that bring together communities within the financial space. He joined Thomson Financial ESG (now Omgeo) in 1991 as part of the founding team and worked in London, Singapore and the company’s headquarters in Boston. Peter was part of the executive team that defined and executed the merger with the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) creating Omgeo. Peter then joined the financial extranet provider Radianz (now BT Radianz) where he led global strategic business development. Among other things, Peter and his team was instrumental in developing their low-latency proximity hosting offering in NY, London and Tokyo. Most recently Peter led the successful development of the NYSE Technologies business in Asia. Under his leadership, the business established a strong enterprise software and services revenue flow in the areas of order routing, market data and exchange technology. Peter was instrumental in the acquisition of Japan-based Metabit in 2011 and the definition of NYSE Technologies’ global Liquidity Hub strategy. Peter has established deep and successful relationships around the region with exchanges, brokers and buy-sides. Peter guest lectures on financial technology as part of Singapore Management University’s (SMU) Masters in IT (Finance) program. He is married with 2 children and is an active member of the Irish community in Singapore.
Ian Smith is head of Electronic Execution for Citi in Asia and has been a leading driver of algorithmic execution platforms in both Asia and Europe for the last 12 years. In his current role, Ian manages a hybrid regional team of sales and coverage, quantitative analysts and technology who provide local market experience that allows Citi to offer an innovative electronic execution platform which delivers global reach with local excellence. Ian holds a bachelors degree in Economics and a Masters in International Economics.
Kevin returned to Hong Kong in June 2011. In his current role as Head of Wholesale Execution Services Asia, he looks after the markets business for other broker dealers, banks and stock exchanges. From the markets perspective he leads Citi's powerful initiative to combine global execution with clearing, settlement and custody to provide customers with one stop shopping for global trading. Prior to this Kevin was the Global Head of Market Infrastructures Group at Citi. Kevin was based in London and was responsible for managing Citi's global relationships with market infrastructures and developing mutually beneficial business opportunities. Prior to joining Citi, Kevin spent 10 years at Thomson Reuters. Kevin worked across various divisions of Thomson Reuters including market data, market research and M&A data. Finaly he focused on Omgeo. Omgeo is a joint venture between DTCC and Thomson Reuters providing post trade transaction services to broker dealers, banks and fund managers. He held several positions including Regional Manager Hong Kong, Regional Director Japan and Korea, Managing Director Asia based in Singapore and his last post was Managing Director, Global Head of Relationship Management and Sales based in London. Whilst at Omgeo, Kevin helped launch "Autex" in Asia and was one of the early pioneers in bringing FIX connectivity and IOIs to the region. In addition Kevin has worked as an underwriter for Prudential Assurance Company and Price Waterhouse Coopers in an audit capacity.
Chris is currently Global Head of Market Access and Electronic Brokerage for ABN AMRO Clearing. Chris is located in Hong Kong from where he runs ABN’s Market Access providing ABN’s clients around the globe infrastructure access to trade the worlds electronic equity, derivative and commodity exchanges. Chris has built this business up for ABN AMRO Clearing over the last 12 years. Chris has had previous trading roles with Barclays Capital and Natwest Markets, and has also been managing Director for of a large independent electronic trading software vendor. Prior to his current role, Alan was Head of Market Data for Asia/Pacific for UBS based in Hong Kong. He has 19 years experience in investment banking technology roles and vendor technology roles in both Europe and Asia. Alan was previously Regional Head of Market Data for Global Markets Equities IT in Deutsche Bank, Hong Kong where he was responsible for their low-latency data implementation and API strategy across APAC. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Alan was with Thomson Reuters for 7 years where he ran the Enterprise IMS business in Asia (Enterprise Platform) and had previously worked on many new initiatives such as TRHS hosting in the US and Machine Readable News in the Innovations Group; Also in his time at Reuters, Alan spent two years in Thailand off-shoring 2nd level engineering and support for RMDS. Prior to Thomson Reuters, Alan had spent 7 years with JPMorgan Chase running their UK Market Data service delivery and architecture teams. He has a degree in Physics with Computing and has lived in Hong Kong for the last 4 years with his wife and two children.
Started my career in Reuters Mexico in 1995 as an installations, field support and open systems manager in charge of technical operations for the country. Transferred to Reuters NY in 1999 where I worked until 2002 as a senior systems engineer in charge of Reuters and Tibco product integration on client systems. From 2002 to 2007 I worked for Barclays Capital in NY as a regional Market Data Technical Services manager in charge of all Market Data infrastructure and distribution platforms for the bank. In 2007 and until 2008 I joined STAC research, a performance benchmarking company that specializes in low latency benchmarking for capital markets workloads as a Managing Consultant. From 2008 to now I have been working as a Market Data Engineer (Managing the team since July) in Deutsche Bank in Japan designing, implementing and supporting Market Data infrastructure, acted as Project Manager for the TSE Arrowhead Collocation implementation.
Ken is Global Co-Head of Algorithmic Trading Products and Global Head of Algorithmic Framework at RBS. He has 10 years experience in algorithmic trading, both prop and agency, including several years at both UBS and JPMorgan. Prior to working in investment banking, Ken worked as a researcher in computational modelling, applying his models to a diverse set of scientific problems including plasma physics, hydrodynamics, computer vision, phylogenetics and population genetics. He has a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the Australian National University, as well as a PhD in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Western Australia
